EXCHANGE WEEKEND IN THE ROCKIES

We arrived in Canmore Friday afternoon and met up with John n Trish at the Grizzly Paw Pub for tea. Our motel is the picture with the school bus by the reception desk, the motel was completely surrounded by the mountains.

DOGSLEDDING IN THE ROCKIES

fun,FUN,fun.....John drove or tried to steer the sled, I sat comfortably wrapped in the blanket. Loudly encouraging the dog with "good boy, go Snowflake, good dogs "whereas John had commands such as "WOOW"(stop)," hike", (go) "on by"( ignore the distraction
and keep going) ,the more you talk the better they go .It was very exciting ,they took us across a lake and along a river i know I keep saying it but the scenery was gorgeous.

SNOWSHOEING IN THE ROCKIES

An exchange weekend in Canmore (The Rockies) was beautiful, exhausting, interesting, and a new experience including a picnic in the snow, jumping off hills of snow with snowshoes on(the younger of the group did this). Looking at breathtaking scenery. We had to get to the top of the mtn for the views It took us 4 hours.

I did actually fall as John asked me to back up for the photo in the dry river bed.Fortunately Jenny rescued me (mind you it was amusing because we have these big shoes on and we slipping all over the place.

LAKE LOUISE on Family Day

Lake Louise was absolutely beautiful. We walked out onto the lake, past skating, ice hockey and the Ice Sculptures. It was very cold but every body was out enjoying the sunshine. Of course we had hot chocolate in the Chateau overlooking the lake.

travelling along the Icefield Parkway in the Rockies

Travelling along the Sascatchewan River, the wind was blowing the snow into drifts and exposing the ice underneath.

Dry Buffalo Provincial Park

Great scenery absolutely flat prairie land and the suddenly you would come across these canyons. The Indians would herd the buffalo toward the cliff edge and then over they'd go!
