Calgary heritage centre

Visiting the Heritage Centre in Calgary

With Trish and John we first went to the Lilac festival which was a little rained out.But after breakfast with Queenslanders Trish and Dan ( their balcony looked over the main street where it was all happening) we ventured off to the heritage center where there was a quilt festival.

A weekend in Calgary

A miserable weekend of rain BUT that didnt stop us .Trish, John and I went downtown while the other John deserted us for Graduation stuff. We met up later at the River Cafe set in a beautiful park in the middle of Calgary, we saw squirrel, lots of Canadian geese and magpies (their magpies are the same colour but have very long tails)

On route to Los Angeles

Flying out of Edmonton on the May long weekend was really spectacular especially flying over the Rockies. We landed in Vancouver for a couple of hours then flew into LAX an extremely busy airport .Then off to our motel at Disneyland.Great weekend.

DISNEYLAND

Even though we are a little old. There was plenty to keep the magic alive in this place ,the gardens were absolutely beautiful, it was a little more crowded than other times but John and I managed to stroll around (not having to run from ride to ride with 3 children was a little more relaxing for us. too).

The Disney Parade (we actually watched twice).

A visit to Orange and Venice canals in LosAngeles

Orange town was lovely my sort of town wall to wall antique malls.Jen Alex John and I had coffee in a cutesy place then explored. Then drove across town to the Venice canals which we discovered on our walk to Venice Beach.

Rodeo Drive

Just a quick walk down Rodeo Drive looking for a coffee shop, but hard to find an open one on Sunday night! We ended up back in the Disney area .
Venice beach was interesting as well, with lots interesting characters! Some John wouldn't let me take photos of!!!!
